X11R4 Patches and SCO

I've recently learned about the patches that are available to get X11R4
under SCO Xenix 386. My optimism was quickly tempered when I realized that
I'd need to buy a much larger hard drive in order to simply compile the
whole darn mess as it is > 100 Meg of source. I have a few questions for
those who may be aware of the specifics of the installation or who may
have already used these patches. Please email and I'll summarize as I think
this may be of general interest:

1- How well does X11 run once installed? Compared with Xsight if possible.
   ( I know this is comparing Apples and Oranges but it *is* useful).

2- Once the sources are removed after compilation, how much space is
   taken up by the full install?

3- I presume the kernel must be patched. Once this obstacle is overcome
   has anyone made the binaries available as a standalone option?

4- When compiled will I have the Xlib's available so that I may compile
   and install PD X applications?
