SCO XENIX | HP LaserJet II

Scenario: we have an AT&T 6300+ running SCO Xenix 2.1.3 (yes,
I know, its an old level) connected to an HP LaserJet series II,
which we can't seem to take advantage of (other than emulating
a dot matrix printer) - which is why I'm submitting this article.
Does anyone have a driver or routines for using an HP LaserJet
with nroff/troff?
There's some Imagen stuff in /usr/spool/lp/model, but I haven't
found anything in the documentation to take advantage of it -
even if its compatible with the HP (it looks the same from the
outside - yes, I know that that is irrelevant!).
By the way, I called SCO technical support and they did not
know of any laser printer drivers, and suggested that I call HP.
I called HP and they said that they do not *do* drivers, but
that SCO has one in the works (not confirmed from SCO).
Please e-mail responses to me and I promise to summarize to the
net!
