outb() fcn on IBM XENIX not found

I am trying to write a device driver  in C for the IBM PC AT running XENIX 
Version 1.00. The program requires use of the functions out() and outb(), 
however the C compiler cannot find them. Has anyone had this problem? Does 
anyone know where the functions are defined?
