Multimate Advantage on the 386i?

I have been trying to run Multimate Advantage in a DOS window on the 386i.
When the main menu is displayed, the speaker continuously beeps.  Whenever
I make a selection from the menu, the selection number is repeated on the
next screen.  Can anyone help me?
