You probably have a bad transceiver on the network that the Sun 3/50's are
on.  We ran into the same problem.  The only reason that we managed to
find the problem was that the bad transceiver was the transceiver that a
fiber repeater was plugged into.  The bad packets were showing up on both
sides of the network.  The best way to track this this down is to swap out
transceivers, one by one.  It's not much fun, but it works.
