SIMMs pin-out

I recently purchased a new motherboard for my IBM-PC that contains 4 Meg
of ram as DIPs and sockets for 4 Meg of RAM as SIMMs. When I went to put
in the SIMM's, I discovered that the silver connector at the pin 1/30
position was absent. I put the SIMMs (1Meg x 9) in any way, and they
seemed to work fine. However the motherboard manufacturer told me that
pin 1 was used for addressing (pin 30 seems to be a ground or supply that
is duplicated at pin 16), so perhaps I had not performed a valid test. I
have called a number of other places to verify the pin-out on the SIMMs -
all with no success.

I would very much like to know what the pin-out on standard 1Meg x 9 SIMMs
is. Any help would be appreciated.
