OCR/Bitmap scanners.

I am interested in finding anything and everything to do with Image
scanners linked to Sun systems, whether of the OCR or direct image
variety.

My primary application is directed towards OCR scanning of DNA sequence
data from journals or hardcopy--so far nothing has come close to
keyboarding the stuff!

A secondary use would be to investigate the use of this technology to
store high resolution images of journal articles for retreival.

Any info or experiences would be welcome.
