The documentation I received with my Xstation software upgrade specifically
states "supports IEEE 802.3 protocol".  The update version is listed as
3001.  To request the hardware upgrade, the documentation suggests contacting
IBM-SERV or remarketer and requesting "ECA 001" for the Xstation.
