transfig-2.1.1 on IBM RS/6000

When I try to compile the latest version of transfig on our
IBM RS/6000 running AIX 3.1, I get a whole host of compiler
errors.  Has anyone else successfully compiled transfig on
an RS/6000?  If so, PLEASE send me e-mail explaining how
you did it.
