Installation problem on EISA-Compaq

Who knows this !

We bought a wonderful maschine - a Compaq Deskpro 386/33L Model 650.
This is a EISA-Bus maschine with a EISA ESDI Harddisk-Controller.
The Harddisk has a capacity of 650-Megabyte. 

I'd like to install Interactive Unix Rel. 2.2 or 2.2.1 on this computer.
So I tried several times to install but the install-script always fails to
format and copy the Unix-files.
Formatting for DOS works just fine ! 

Does Interactive Unix support this type of harddisk or no ? I suppose not !
Or what else could I do to finally succeed ? I am thankful for any hint which
will help to solve the problem.
