uucico protocols

Hello all,

I have a question for a HDB uucp guru. Is there a way of telling
uucico to use the 'g' protocol when calling a particular machine, but
to *allow* 'e' protocol when that same machine calls you? I haven't
been able to do this yet. I am also wondering about the merits of
using the 'e' error free transmission facility protocol over 9600
baud MNP6 modems. My experience with these modems under 'reliable'
connection has been very good. Your wife/girlfriend/SO can pick up
the phone and yell into it without effect :-) But I wonder if the
'e' protocol still uses sliding window or any type of checksum on
received/transmitted data. Anybody out there have an opinion on
this subject? (stupid question)
